Analysis of the regulatory T cell (Treg) population, RNA expression, and cytokines in the spleen tissue of EAE mice. a Spleens were enlarged in the control EAE group, whereas the size of the spleen in the treatment group was similar to that in the naïve group. b, c The proportion of CD4 + CD25 + Foxp3 + Treg cells was lower in the control group compared to the naïve group; the proportion of this population was higher in the treatment group compared to that in the control group. d The expression of CD206 was decreased in the control EAE group, but significantly increased in the treatment group compared to that in the control group. The expression of iNOS was significantly decreased in the treatment compared to that in the control group. The expression of the inflammatory cytokines tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and interferon gamma (IFN-γ) was lower in the treatment group compared to that in the control group. e Interleukin 6 (IL-6) concentration was measured in activated splenocytes and found to be lower in the treatment group compared to that in the control group.
